Maintenance Free Earthing Solutions

Chemical earth enhancement materials are used to provide the lowest impedance path for fault currents to be dispersed into the earth in the shortest time possible. These fault currents are typically due to transients and they could be dangerous to the power system, equipment connected and the personnel involved with the system. Hence, it is desired that a good grounding system is installed to provide such path to clear these fault currents from the power system in a manner that danger could be reduced. Such transients are generated by lightning, or switching action.

Lightning Protection System – Early Streamer Emission

ESE is a technically superior approach in solving the perennial problem of damages due to lightning. ESE has proved in providing more effective protection against lightning. Slightly rounded air terminal, which is typical of ESE system offer better interception ability than that of sharp terminals, which is the typical Franklin Rod design. It is also shown that ionizing the air around the tip of the terminals can enhance its effectiveness. ESE system has been found to intercept more lightning strikes than that by the Franklin Rod.

LPS- Conventional Lightning Arrester

Lightning strikes are the visible discharge of static electricity accumulated in storm clouds created by meteorological conditions. Strokes may occur within the cloud, between clouds, or from the cloud base to earth or earthed structures.
Lightning protection is a modern development of innovation led by Benjamin Franklin: the electric rod. Today, lightning protection systems are being used on the launch pads of thousands of buildings, homes, factories, towers and even space shuttles.

Exothermic Welding

Exothermic Welding, ‘the ultimate connection for quality products and service’, also known as Exothermic Bonding, Thermite Welding and Thermit Welding is a welding process for joining materials that employs molten metal to permanently join the conductors. This process employs an exothermic reaction of a thermite composition to heat the metal, and requires no external source of heat or current. The chemical reaction that produces the heat is an alumino-thermic reaction between aluminium powder and a metal oxide.

Earthing and Lightning Protection & Accessories

There are several important reasons why a grounding and lightning protection system should be installed. But the important reason is to protect people! Other reasons includes protection of structures and equipment from unintentional contact with energized electrical lines. The grounding system must ensure maximum safety from electrical system faults and lightning. Equipment and building protection is provided by low impedance grounding and bonding between electrical services, protective devices, equipment and other conductive objects so that faults or lightning currents do not result in hazardous voltages within the building.
